Salary Range: $78,000 - $112,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Kentwood seeking IATF Quality Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support IATF 16949 compliance and certification efforts within the manufacturing facility.
  • Manage APQP activities and ensure successful PPAP submissions for new products and process changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using 8D methodology and implement effective corrective and preventive actions for internal and external quality issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Process FMEAs, Control Plans, and process flow diagrams.
  • Perform internal and supplier quality system audits to ensure adherence to IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements.
  • Analyze quality data (e.g., SPC, scrap, rework) to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and reduce defects.
  • Facilitate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies and ensure calibration requirements are met for critical equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Deep understanding and practical application of IATF 16949 standards.
  • Proficiency in core automotive quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to conduct internal and supplier audits, with IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of quality engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Lead Auditor certification (e.g., IATF 16949).
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for complex data analysis.
  • Proven experience in supplier quality development and on-site process audits.
