Job Summary
The Parts and Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the flow of parts, supplies, and shipments in and out of the warehouse. This role combines inventory management, shipping/receiving, and warehouse operations to ensure accurate order fulfillment and efficient logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to balance both administrative and physical warehouse duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, store, and issue parts, tools, and supplies to internal teams and external customers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor part usage and reorder as needed to maintain stock levels.
- Verify that parts meet quality standards before use or shipment.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding purchase orders and deliveries.
- Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments in compliance with company and carrier standards.
- Schedule pickups and coordinate with freight, courier, and parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL).
- Inspect inbound shipments for accuracy, damages, and documentation (packing slips, bills of lading).
- Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams and customers.
- Maintain compliance with shipping regulations and company safety policies.
- Unload trucks and courier deliveries as needed.
- Organize warehouse stock and maintain an orderly, safe storage environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, scanners).
- Rotate stock and ensure items are properly labeled and stored.
- Dispose of packaging waste and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
Requirements:
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or business preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or parts management.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with inventory management systems (ERP, WMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with carrier shipping systems (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, etc.).
- Other Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift packages (30–50 lbs regularly).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment
- Mix of warehouse and office environment.
- Frequent interaction with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
- Requires physical activity including standing, lifting, bending, and handling packages.
