Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting autistic students, ages 3–12, as part of a dedicated team providing Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) services. This role, located near Saugerties, NY, welcomes both OTs and COTAs, with immediate openings for certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. The position offers a steady schedule from 8:00am to 3:00pm (with a 30-minute lunch), totaling 32.5 hours per week.

Desired Background and Experience

  • Current certification as either an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Experience working in educational or pediatric settings preferred
  • Familiarity with sensory processing approaches and student-centered interventions highly valued
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a passion for teamwork
  • Comfort with electronic documentation platforms

Responsibilities

  • Provide ~8-9 OT sessions daily, typically to students seen 1–2 times per week
  • Deliver mostly individual therapy sessions, with occasional push-in support in classrooms
  • Follow pre-made schedules (administratively managed in 30-minute increments)
  • Utilize designated therapy rooms and supplied equipment, with additional access to a large gym space
  • Track session notes and maintain documentation electronically, laptop provided
  • Engage in morning/afternoon prep time for planning, professional development, documentation, and meetings
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and PT, as part of a transdisciplinary team using a child-focused, sensory-informed approach
  • Participate in comprehensive orientation, including two days of behavior management training
