We’re an established and growing General Contractor and Developer with an immediate opening for an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations for dynamic building projects ranging from $250K to $30M+. Our diverse portfolio includes multi-family housing, mixed-use developments, medical facilities, senior living housing, adaptive reuse, retail buildouts, and high-end renovations. Our projects are based in the Chicagoland area within a radius of about 40 miles from our office in Chicago.

Reporting to the General Superintendent, you'll work closely with the Project Manager, driving success through safety, quality, and communication.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead Field Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day jobsite activity, crew coordination, inspections, and trade sequencing.
  • Maintain tight control of schedules and budgets through proactive planning and problem-solving.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to support continuous progress.

Build and Lead Strong Teams

  • Foster trust and collaboration among owners, architects, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal staff.
  • Conduct site walks, meetings, and check-ins to support team alignment and productivity.
  • Manage performance respectfully—coach, mentor, and hold others accountable when necessary.

Prioritize Safety and Quality

  • Promote and enforce jobsite safety protocols in partnership with our Safety Coordinator.
  • Maintain compliance and correct issues swiftly to uphold high-quality standards.

Communicate with Clarity

  • Keep the General Superintendent, PM, and client stakeholders informed on project status and challenges.
  • Document and escalate concerns early to minimize rework or delays.
  • Recognize strong contributions and address issues quickly to keep punch lists light.

Utilize Technology and Processes

  • Manage project documentation, billing, schedules, and reporting with precision.
  • Embrace tech tools to streamline your workflow and keep the project organized.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience:

  • 7+ years in construction, with 5+ years as a Superintendent
  • Proven success managing ground-up multi-unit, multi-family builds
  • Prior leadership and subcontractor management experience

Knowledge:

  • In-depth expertise in residential and commercial construction
  • Skilled with MS Office/Outlook; bonus for Sage, MasterBuilder, or SureTrak experience
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; tactful and customer-oriented
  • Business-savvy with budget and schedule awareness
  • Adaptable, composed under pressure, and resolution-focused

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's in Construction Management preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, own vehicle required
  • OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred
