Position Summary

Provides consultation and guidance for Environmental matters and assists with the Safety and Health of the business. Should be involved in all aspects of the Environmental and assist with HSE functions and be able to work on their own and lead in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Environmental guidance such as SPCC, SWPPP, and Hazardous waste.

Job Functions/Duties (may be assigned other duties by management)

· Identifying pollution issues in the environment

· Carrying out spill anticipation programs and dangerous waste regulations

· Gathering and investigating test samples of soil, water, and air

· Develop plans and strategies to stop, control, or resolve environmental problems

· Prepare training plans and materials and deliver training courses. SPCC, SWPPP, and Hazardous waste )

· Provide technical expertise on various Environmental / HSE programs for the business.

· Understand the components of the Environmental / HSE Management Systems; maintain accurate data in accordance with applicable record retention requirements.

· Respond to customer requests and manage customer focus groups.

· Participate in customer audits and visits to customer sites

· Implement and maintain company HSE documents adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

· Works with internal and external customers to ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and policies compliance-based.

· Leads compliance based audits and required inspections.

· Lead and develop mentoring and behavioral programs.

· Lead or assist in managing the company's DOT and drug/alcohol testing programs.- Please remove

· Lead and/or assist with risk assessments

· Lead and/or assist with incident investigations.

· Compile and analyze HSE statistics and other applicable HSE data for monthly reports.

· Assist in developing corrective actions to address negative trends.

· May be required to travel to attend seminars and conferences to remain up-to-date on safety and environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.

· Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material.

· Actively promote the safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.

· Any other tasks and collateral duties, as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Education Requirements

· Knowledge in Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations is required.

· Ability to read and interpret policies, programs and regulations.

· Proficient computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and/or company specific databases.

· Good communication and analytical skills, both orally and in writing.

· Must be able to work well with stringent deadlines and possess good organizational skills.

· 3 or more years of experience as an HSE professional is required.

· Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety and Environmental disciplines or degree in another field may be considered with an additional two years of professional experience.

· Professional certification in HSE or Environmental is preferred (i.e. ASP, CSP, OHST, REM, CESCO, etc .).

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

 Normal office environment and frequent exposure to operations environment during the course of normal job duties.

 Occasionally required to move about the facility.

 Occasional travel is required.

 24 hour, On-Call availability is required.

 Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, hard hat and safety shoes while in the shop environment or on job site.

 Often times must climb stairs and walk over surfaces of varying terrain.

 Must be able to perform duties in all types of weather.

 This is safety-sensitive position.
