A Cardiac ECHO Sonographer is needed at a 198-bed, Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. The facility operates state-of-the-art surgical suites and receives trauma transfers from across the region, and holds accreditations in PCI, Mammography, and Laboratory services. The broader service line includes a cancer center, childbirth center, inpatient behavioral health unit, nephrology unit, pediatric unit, and extensive imaging services.
The role. The Cardiac ECHO Sonographer functions within the Cardiopulmonary Specialty Services department, performing diagnostic echocardiographic studies across all patient age groups. The position centers on operating the GE Vivid E95 ultrasound system to acquire and interpret cardiac images in support of physician diagnosis and treatment planning, with adult echocardiography as the primary focus and pediatric echocardiography as a valued secondary skill. Documentation and image management are performed within a Cerner EHR environment. The sonographer participates in a rotating call schedule, taking call every fifth week, and contributes to weekend coverage on a one-in-five rotation.
What we're looking for.
- Credential from CCI or RDCS required
- BLS required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of acute care echocardiography experience
- Adult ECHO proficiency required; pediatric ECHO experience preferred
- New Mexico licensure or Compact licensure not required at submission but must be obtained prior to start date
Schedule. Day shift with call every fifth week for one full week and on-call coverage every fifth weekend.
Compensation. $32.43 - $51.88/hr plus $1 sign-on bonus
