A Firefighter Paramedic combines the roles of a firefighter and a paramedic, responding to both fire emergencies and medical incidents. They are trained to extinguish fires, rescue individuals, and provide emergency medical care. Their duties include operating firefighting equipment, administering medical treatment, and maintaining equipment and facilities.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Ability to work five 48-hour shifts per month (48/96 schedule)
- Must possess a current Missouri EMT-P License
- Must possess a current Driver’s License
- Preferred, but not required, St. Louis County Fire Academy training
- Preferred, but not required, certifications include ACLS, PALS, PHTLS or ITLS, and AMLS
- Ability to meet the physical demands and perform essential functions of the position, including regular attendance
- Preference will be given to applicants with EMS experience
Wages: $68,982 starting wage, $98,449 after four years of service
