Career Services Advisor Description


We are now seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual for the position of Career Services Advisor to join our Student Services Department at the Pittsburgh (Online) campus.


This job is Full-Time - On Campus role.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist all graduates in securing in-field/related field employment in order to meet the institutional placement benchmark.
  • Work with industry/businesses to determine present and future employment needs and generate interest in South College graduates.
  • Coordinate job placements with prospective employers, determine job descriptions, and recommend graduates for interviews. Follow up on graduate placement.
  • Meet with students to provide resources and assistance with mock interviewing, resume and cover letter writing assistance, and job search strategies.
  • Assist in planning career services seminars for graduates, alumni, and the general public.
  • Maintain an electronic file for each graduate that includes required documentation of employment. Enter placement information in student database.
  • Maintain statistical records on graduate employment, long-term and short-term.
  • Survey and compile annual statistics for graduates, employers as to job satisfaction with graduates, and alumni.
  • Coordinate job fairs on campus, attend community events to promote the college, and attend high school career fairs as requested.
  • Report to supervisor weekly on employment status of graduates and activities of the office.
  • Serve on college committees as designated

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to develop and present Career Services workshops
