Job Description\n
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Observation Unit night shift position requiring strong pre/post Cath Lab, PACU recovery, and telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a 31-bed Cardiac Observation Unit within a hospital setting
- Handles admissions, procedure recovery, pre- and post-Cath Lab, EP Lab, and cardiac surgery admissions
- Cares for patients including PACU recovery, TAVR/LAAO recoveries, and cardiac observation
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.)
- Floats required to other cardiac, stepdown, or telemetry units as needed; cross-campus floating during shift is rare
- Patient ratios of 3:1 (day) and 4-5:1 (night)
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Uses Epic EMR with CUPID experience highly preferred
- Must be able to start IVs, remove radial artery sheaths, manage cardiac drips and TR Bands, and perform cardioversions
- Responsible for precepting students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment
- Red scrub top and black scrub bottoms required; no competing health system or agency logos allowed
- A 40-mile radius rule applies; no local candidates will be considered
- COVID-19 vaccine is not currently required but is subject to change
- Three call-ins may result in termination
- Must provide holiday coverage as scheduled
- Not open to first-time travelers

- Active IN or Compact RN license
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant cardiac experience required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment completed
- Experience with Epic EMR required; CUPID experience preferred
- Proficient in telemetry, 12-lead EKG interpretation, IV and arterial line management, TR Band management, and cardiac drip titration
- Ability to pass telemetry competency tests
