Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a collaborative team in Louisiana in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist with strong experience who communicates effectively, works well across departments, and brings a proactive approach to financial operations. The position will support day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely reporting and month-end close efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Build and refine accounting processes that support accurate financial tracking, including the setup and maintenance of account structures and standard procedures.
• Review daily financial activity, assign transactions appropriately, and post entries with a high degree of accuracy.
• Reconcile account balances and investigate discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Oversee the general ledger and keep records current, complete, and properly organized.
• Prepare and preserve supporting documentation so historical financial information is easy to access and audit-ready.
• Produce financial statements and other reports by compiling, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information.
• Generate customer invoices, monitor incoming payments, and record deposits in a timely manner.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and bank reconciliations.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping-related roles.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software, including QuickBooks.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• Experience supporting month-end close and completing bank reconciliations.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with a team-oriented work style.
• High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
