Job Description

Routing and cutting of print materials experience is a must.


This role will be night shift 6pm to 6am Monday to Friday.


POSITION SUMMARY: Being able to finish raw material and/or printed stock to customer specifications on a Zund or Kongsberg router. Perform cutting operations by selecting appropriate files, adjusting computer settings, selecting the proper tools and finishing operations (e.g. cutting, routing, scoring, etc.) and performs maintenance and upkeep on the equipment as needed. The following is a basic outline of responsibilities:


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reads and understands fully the work order and description of work to be completed.
  • Checks product for accuracy, quality issues, conformity with work order objectives.
  • Determines what finishing functions are required according to the written work order.
  • Selects the appropriate tools and adjusts settings to ensure safe and proper operation to obtain the desired finish.
  • Scraps cut material and stacks and labels for the next process on the work order.
  • Performs a QA check on first, middle and last (sheet) product against all aspects of the work order to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Inspect machine guards for safety compliance.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED): or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Must complete the Miller Zell Forklift Certification program and obtain a valid Miller Zell Forklift license before hire.
