An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with emergency room skills, based in Lees Summit, MO. This contract position offers the chance to work within a community hospital emergency department combining adult and pediatric care. Candidates will support a fast-paced, STEMI and stroke-certified facility, making a critical difference in urgent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to emergency patients, including pediatrics with conditions such as asthma, head injuries, infections, and psychiatric emergencies.
• Manage complex clinical interventions including arterial line management, blood product administration, chest tube care, intubation, and cardiac monitoring.
• Administer emergency medications and manage patients requiring continuous sedation, paralytics, or vasopressors.
• Apply advanced assessment skills in triage, dysrhythmia management, and neurological emergencies such as stroke.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams across multiple units and facilities as needed, demonstrating flexibility in floating and charge nurse duties.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Registered Nurse licensure with a minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience.
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALSS.
• Proficient in EPIC charting system.
• Strong pediatric and psychiatric emergency care skills.
• Ability to float within clinical scope to meet facility needs.
• Willingness to work every third weekend and holiday shifts as assigned.
• Local candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility.

Schedule:

• Mid shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (14:45 - 03:15), with a 6-week scheduling period.
