The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our Titan Machine brand in Hillside, NJ. This is a hands-on role producing new sheaves and worm/gear sets, operating precision manual machines, and ensuring top-quality work that directly impacts elevator safety and performance.
What You’ll Do

Operate manual lathes, milling machines, boring mills, radial drill presses, grinders, gear hobbing machinery, and more

Read blueprints, drawings, and use precision measuring tools (within 0.0005")

Collaborate with shop personnel to improve tooling, processes, and efficiency

Perform machine maintenance and minor repairs

Maintain accurate routing, setup, and task hour records

Uphold all safety procedures and PPE standards
What We’re Looking For
-
3+ years in a related machine shop environment

Manual lathe experience required; vertical turret lathe (Bullard) experience preferred
-
Vocational/trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent training a plus
-
Gear hobbing and/or worm/gear cutting experience strongly preferred

Elevator or motor shop background highly desirable

Welding structural steel assemblies experience

Bilingual Spanish skills a plus

Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver
Training & Growth
You’ll receive specialized training in areas such as Bullard operation, thread milling, gear hobbing, cylindrical grinding, and thread grinding. Successful completion and certification lead to additional pay.
