Summary:
We are supporting a client of ours that specializes in high-quality enclosure solutions, and they are seeking to bring on a versatile Application Engineer to wear various project-based engineering hats. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and internal engineering groups to define project requirements, technical specifications, and design parameters.
- Develop engineered solutions for custom and standard enclosure products, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Interpret customer drawings, technical documentation, and application needs to create accurate design proposals and technical recommendations.
- Produce 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
- Support product development initiatives, prototype builds, testing, and validation activities as needed.
- Serve as a technical resource during the quotation process, assisting in scope definition and feasibility assessments.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including troubleshooting, design modifications, and customer communication.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure design intent and quality standards are met during production.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product performance, engineering processes, and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–5+ years of engineering experience, ideally in enclosures, custom fabrication, industrial products, or similar project-based environments.
- Proficiency with CAD platforms (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes.
