Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS Oncology RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity seeks a registered nurse with oncology expertise to deliver compassionate, specialized care in a dynamic acute care hospital setting. The role supports adult oncology patients, focusing on chemotherapy administration and comprehensive infusion therapy within a 24-room oncology unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy safely, including continuous infusions, IV push, and oral medications.
- Handle body fluids post-chemotherapy and manage cytotoxic spill clean-up.
- Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions and abnormal lab values, communicating findings effectively.
- Perform comprehensive IV therapy, including central line care, port access, blood product administration, and initiation of IVs.
- Flexibly float within the unit as needed to meet patient care demands.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Illinois RN license required (or application in process).
- Minimum of one year oncology nursing experience preferred; new graduates with oncology interest welcome.
- Chemotherapy certification preferred, with proven skills in chemotherapy administration and IV therapy.
- Willingness to work every other weekend and a 3x12-hour day shift schedule from 7:15 AM to 6:45 PM.
- Ability to work with a maximum of five days off during the assignment; block schedule requests can be discussed.

- Contract position with guaranteed hours, allowing flexibility in balancing work and personal life.
- Parking is available at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation.
