Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician experienced in inpatient settings with IV preparation and automated dispensing systems. This travel position offers a unique schedule and the chance to work in a dynamic hospital environment. The role is based in the Gardena, CA area and requires flexibility for night shifts on a 5-on, 5-off rotation.
Location: Gardena, CA (travel assignment)
Position Type: Contract (8 to 13 weeks duration)
Schedule:
- Night shift, 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 5 consecutive days on, 5 consecutive days off
- 10-hour shifts per day
Responsibilities:
- Prepare IV medications including IVPB and TPN formulations
- Manage and fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately
- Respond to telephone inquiries promptly regarding medication orders
- Deliver medications to nursing units as required
- Utilize Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems to process medication orders
- Maintain compliance with hospital pharmacy standards and protocols
Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy technician experience required
- Proficient in IV admixture preparation and handling
- Skilled in operating Pyxis or other automated dispensing cabinets
- Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid Pharmacy Technician certification as required by state regulations
