Join us in Fenton, Michigan as a long-term contract designer focused on creating best-in-class material handling rack solutions using Siemens NX. This is a Day Shift position with OT. Pay Rate: based on proven work history.

A Day in the Life

You’ll start by reviewing job line-up sheets and control line-up forms for your assigned project. From there, you’ll dive into NX to build out 3D models, convert them into clear, build-ready prints, and ensure revisions and non-conformances are reflected accurately. You’ll collaborate with internal reviewers, incorporate customer standards and specifications, and keep an eye on cost-effectiveness while following safety, environmental, and quality practices.

What You’ll Tackle

• Own material handling rack design work, with other design types assigned as needed.
• Deliver new designs, revisions, reverse-engineered models, layouts, rework instructions, and detailed drawings.
• Interpret Job Line-up sheets and complete/control line-up documentation for each project.
• Create 3D models and generate precise drawings from those models in NX.
• Update drawings to capture all builds and any non-conformances.
• Produce change information to support estimating.
• Design to customer standards and specifications, preparing quality designs and build prints for internal reviews.
• Drive cost-conscious solutions without compromising quality.
• Follow safety and environmental regulations and flag potential concerns.
• Support the Quality System and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance to meet project commitments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum five-years NX tooling design experience.
