Job Title – Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician
Unit – Medical Laboratory
Duration of Assignment – 26 Weeks
Location – Bethel, AK
Shift – Variable 8-Hour Shifts (Days / Evenings / Nights)
Guarantee Hours – 32 Hours/Week
Salary Range – $55- 60/ hr.
- Housing: Provided by facility
- Travel: Base airfare reimbursed after arrival
Job Duties:
- Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, and microbiology.
- Conduct quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
- Communicate test results effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
- Operate and maintain clinical laboratory instrumentation.
- Function as a laboratory generalist in a rural healthcare setting.
- Work independently and provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
- Board eligible by ASCP or NCA; must obtain certification within one year of employment.
- Certification as MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of recent laboratory experience (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Proof of completed COVID vaccinations required.
