Cost Accountant | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $64,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, including labor, material, and overhead.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis, explaining differences between standard and actual costs.
- Develop, maintain, and update standard costs for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Perform inventory valuation and reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy.
- Prepare and present cost reports, profitability analysis, and budget vs. actuals comparisons.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process for production costs.
- Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements within manufacturing operations.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with SAP CO module or similar advanced ERP costing functionality.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- SQL proficiency for complex data extraction and analysis.
