The OpportunityFlorence Cement Company is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to oversee and support safety programs across active heavy civil construction projects. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving safety practices, conducting site inspections, ensuring compliance, and supporting a strong safety culture across the organization.
Youll work closely with leadership, project teams, and HR to help ensure safe operations across multiple job sites.
What Youll Do

Evaluate and maintain company safety programs, policies, and procedures

Identify risks and implement practical safety improvements across operations

Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor safety practices and identify hazards
-
Document observations and provide clear feedback to field teams

Lead incident response, reporting, and documentation

Investigate accidents and identify root causes and corrective actions

Coordinate with insurance carriers on incident reporting and claims support
-
Support onboarding by ensuring proper safety training and PPE requirements
-
Organize and conduct safety training, meetings, and ongoing education

Maintain OSHA logs and required safety documentation
-
Ensure compliance with federal, state (MIOSHA), and local safety regulations
-
Monitor regulatory updates and adjust internal processes as needed
-
Assist with workers compensation and liability-related cases
What Were Looking For
-
Experience in construction safety, preferably within heavy civil or infrastructure projects
-
Working knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, and DOT safety standards
-
Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis

Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple job sites

Strong communication skills to effectively engage with field teams and leadership

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Valid drivers license required
Preferred Experience
-
Background in occupational or industrial safety, construction management, or related field
-
Experience supporting safety programs across multiple active job sites
-
Familiarity with insurance reporting, claims management, and risk control processes
-
Experience delivering safety training and leading safety meetings
