Job Summary: The Senior Credit Analyst is a senior level position responsible for completing commercial credit related activities on relationships of all sizes and complexity in order to evaluate credit risk for Minnwest Bank and affiliates. No lending authority is expected.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for mastering commercial credit tax return and financial statements spreading software and completing according to Minnwest Bank's prescribed requirements.
  • Responsible for mastering Minnwest Bank's credit policies and procedures, appropriate underwriting guidelines, and prescribed analysis techniques and applying this knowledge in the review, analysis and structuring of credits.
  • Complete initial underwriting for credit relationships of all sizes and complexity with focus on new, large, complex and/or niche loan requests; also, complete ongoing monitoring and servicing of existing credits. This includes detailed written reports that identify, evaluate, and mitigate repayment risks by succinctly describing and evaluating the: overall relationship with Minnwest Bank; business, individual and global financial condition and performance; collateral quality and coverage; business and economic trends that impact borrowers; and by providing other relevant information for use in the credit review and decision process.
  • Consistently complete work product with quality, accuracy, critical and strategic thinking, limited material revisions and within acceptable timeframes while meeting deadlines
  • Develop positive working relationships with Minnwest Bank staff and borrowers and ensure responsive and timely actions when responding to requests and/or assignments. Interpret information needed to evaluate credit risk. Able to recommend loan structure, re-structure, and/or denial to bankers based on preliminary document review

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or related field of study
  • Previous commercial credit analyst work experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Accounting, finance, math, statistics, computer and research skills
  • Grammar, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and motivation to learn the job and be trained/coached
  • Positive attitude with team-oriented mentality

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Workplace Environment:

  • Requires face-to-face interaction and coordination of work with other employees and departments, and in-person interaction.
  • Working at a computer and utilizing a telephone
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs

Salary Range: $78,400 - $98,000 annually

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. The salary range represents anticipated base pay for this role. The actual pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on factors including but not limited to work location, candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
