Our team is passionate about educating children in a welcoming and supportive environment while building partnerships with families and coworkers. The Kids
- Treat each child and family with dignity, respect, and affection. Use relationship-based teaching so children want to be at school and want to engage with their teachers and classmates. Maintain ongoing formal and informal communication with caregivers.
- Recognize each child's unique development and learning styles. Plan routines and activities to meet individual needs and scaffold development. Share observations and assessments with caregivers at formal conferences throughout the year.
- Welcome new children and families through intake meetings.
The Classroom
- Prepare a warm and safe environment that promotes children's growth and exploration. Developing learning environments will require additional weekend or evening hours 3 times a year.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times through active supervision. Stay alert to the needs and problems of the individuals and the group.
The Team
- Plan developmentally appropriate curriculum, classroom environment, and child supports with co-teacher to support all areas of development.
- Mentor and train other staff to interact and supervise appropriately. Model behavior guidance techniques to support strong social/emotional development among children.
- This is a co-teaching position. Opening and closing shifts alternate with co teacher, and Friday shifts alternate weekly.
