Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based occupational therapy opportunity is available in Lansing, MI, offering a .6 contract position (approximately 24 hours per week) for the remainder of the school year. This role supports a caseload of about 24 students ranging in age from 5 to 26, many of whom have autism, emotional impairments, or cognitive impairments. The position is based in a Center Based School setting, requiring expertise in working with high-needs students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized occupational therapy services to students with diverse and complex needs.
- Collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Assessing student progress and adjusting therapy interventions accordingly.
- Contributing to a positive, supportive learning environment tailored to each students needs.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid Michigan Occupational Therapy license is required.
- Experience working with students who have autism, emotional, and cognitive impairments.
- Background in high-needs educational settings or Center Based Schools.
- Willingness and ability to begin as soon as possible.
