Position Overview
The CDL‐B Backup Driver / Production Associate supports nightly production operations and serves as the designated backup driver when transportation needs arise. When not driving, this role works directly on the production floor to maintain workflow, support equipment operation, and ensure product quality throughout the 2‐2‐3 night shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation (Backup Driver Duties)
- Operate company CDL‐B vehicles safely and in compliance with DOT regulations
- Perform pre‐trip and post‐trip inspections and document findings
- Transport materials, finished goods, or equipment between facilities as needed
- Assist with loading/unloading and securing freight
- Serve as the designated backup driver when the primary driver is unavailable or when additional routes are required
Production & Manufacturing Duties
- Work on the production floor during all non‐driving hours
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot basic production equipment
- Perform material handling, staging, and line support
- Complete quality checks, documentation, and product verification
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Support shift leads and supervisors with workflow adjustments and production goals
- Follow all safety, GMP, and company policies throughout the shift
Schedule
Night Shift – 2‐2‐3 Rotation
- 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
- Every other weekend off
- Built‐in overtime due to 12‐hour shifts
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class B license with clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate box trucks or straight trucks
- Prior manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong reliability and willingness to work a rotating 12‐hour schedule
- Comfortable switching between driving duties and production responsibilities
