Accounting Clerk
Schedule: Regular business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday
Location: must be local to Chicago, IL and report on-site daily to our office in Downtown Chicago
Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 annually

DAY TO DAY
- Responsible for downloading data and updating the daily NSF log
- Responsible for entering clients’ daily remittance ACHs on the bank site
- Record the Company credit card transactions (Citibank and Amex)
- Function as a back-up to Accounts Payable, including daily remittance process (EFTs, etc.)
- Function as a back-up to Accounts Receivable
- Back-up person to generate daily Projected Fee Reports
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., IT, Operations, Payment Processing) in this professional services environment to monitor transactions help promote automation and process efficiencies
- Evaluate and document accounting and operational procedures and set/maintain standards and controls
- Utilize multiple computer systems/programs
- Identify and research any other problems/errors and bring resolutions to leadership immediately
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned including but not limited to Unclaimed Property, etc.
WHAT YOU MUST POSSESS
Must Have:
- High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with Columbia Ultimate Business Systems (CUBS) and/or Genesys Latittude is a plus
- Basic knowledge of accounting/related processes
- 1-2 years of collections agency, accounts payable or financial service industry experience preferred
- Must possess critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Must possess strong integrity and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Must be able to work and communicate well with others
- Must be a self-starter who takes the initiative to carry out additional responsibilities
- Must be detail-oriented and accurate
- Excellent customer service skills and experienced in handling challenging situations (internal or external clients)
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
