Dugas Community Park Executive Director

The non-profit Dugas Community Park Executive Director is responsible for leading and managing the organization, overseeing its operations, finances, and programs, while also fostering relationships with stakeholders and advocating for the organization's mission. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, marketing communications, staff supervision, fundraising, and financial management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

· Strategic Leadership: 10%

Developing and executing the organization's strategic plan, setting achievable goals with positive outcomes, and ensuring alignment with the mission, cooperatively with the Board of Directors.

· Operational and Staff Management: 20%

Overseeing day-to-day operations, including program development, staff management, and resource allocation to all necessary areas for maintenance and development.

Evaluating, supervising, and mentoring staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment; providing leadership with regular staff conferences and evaluation; ensure staff roles & responsibilities are executed for an efficient and productive organization.

· Financial Management: 20%

Developing an organizational budget to ensure park development and maintenance for quality and safety; Developing financial plans and project budgets to provide for strategic planning development; Managing the budget, fundraising efforts, and financial resources to ensure the organization's sustainability.

· Fundraising: 20%

Developing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with donors, and securing funding through grants and other sources to achieve development project goals and organizational sustainability.

· Board Relations: 10%

Providing board of directors’ governance training to ensure collaborative, effective organizational leadership development. Working closely with the board of directors and Executive Committee to develop strategic plans, effective volunteer committees, providing regular updates, seeking input, and ensuring compliance with board directives.

· Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy: 10%

Building and maintaining relationships with local and regional members, donors, partners, and other stakeholders through effective marketing and communications all while representing the organization’s interests and advocating for its mission at the local, state, and national levels.

· Program/Project Development and Oversight: 10%

Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of programs and development projects, monitoring performance outcomes, and adjusting as needed.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in recreation, business management, community development leadership or related degree fields/experience

· Leadership and Management: Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and self- discipline with a proven ability to lead and manage a team, set goals, as well as motivate staff and volunteers.

· Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, identify opportunities, and adapt to changing circumstances.

· Marketing and Public Relations: ability to develop comprehensive organizational marketing and specific program marketing plans

· Fundraising and Development: Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and securing grants.

· Financial Management: Understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and resource allocation.

· Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders, media, and public user demographic groups.

· Competency in technology software such as Microsoft 365, Google applications, social media platforms,

· Nonprofit Experience: Familiarity with the nonprofit sector, its regulations, and best practices.

· Passion for the Mission: Must possess a genuine passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to its success.

Expected Starting Salary:$80,000; salary is commensurate with experience.
