A part-time nursing opportunity is available in Naperville, IL, offering 21 hours per week supporting an elementary/prek student in a school setting. This contract-to-hire role involves providing dedicated 1:1 nursing care to a student requiring specialized medical support during the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care and support for a student with a tracheostomy (trach), ensuring safety and proper management.
- Administer medical treatments and interventions as needed based on the student's individualized healthcare plan.
- Monitor and document the students health status, reporting any changes promptly.
- Collaborate closely with school staff, teachers, and families to coordinate care and promote the students well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure all equipment is properly used and maintained.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) with current licensure.
- Proven experience working in school nursing, particularly with trach care and pediatric patients.
- Ability to work independently in a one-on-one care setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as part of a consistent weekly schedule.
