- Healthcare Setting: Med/Surg Oncology Unit (must float to other Med/Surg Tele units)\n
- Assignment Type: Travel RN job\n
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3x12hr/week)\n
- Hours per Week: 36\n
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026, End: 4/4/2026)\n
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend & major holiday required\n
- Unit Details: 36 beds, patient ages 45-65, Alaris pumps, Hercules beds, 2-3 CNAs per shift, 24-hour phlebotomy support\n
- Scrub Colors: Navy/white\n
\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
- \n
- Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required)\n
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele RN experience (required)\n
- 6 months of acute care hospital RN experience (preferred)\n
- BLS and NIH Stroke Certification (required)\n
- ACLS, CCRN, PCCN certifications (preferred)\n
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided)\n
- Travel nurse candidates only (must reside 50+ miles from facility)\n
- EPIC EHR experience (preferred)\n
\n\nMed/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities\n
- \n
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes\n
- Safely administer medications and follow hospital policies\n
- Coordinate patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams\n
- Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives\n
- Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure or multisystem trauma\n
- Float to other Med/Surg Tele units as needed\n
- Educate and support patients and families\n
- Respond effectively to emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions\n
- Utilize advanced clinical skills: hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube management, conscious sedation\n
- Maintain professionalism, cultural competence, and clear communication\n
