Job Description

The receptionist is responsible for answering phones, performing customer service, and executing other clerical duties as assigned. This role involves maintaining the Front Desk Reception, greeting customers, and directing them to various service areas. The receptionist contacts salespersons for customers and manages incoming telephone communications. Additionally, this role includes ordering necessary supplies, as authorized by managers, and performing other clerical tasks to assist with the smooth functioning of the dealership. A cheerful and professional demeanor towards customers and colleagues is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct incoming telephone communications.
  • Greet customers and direct them to service areas, coffee, restrooms, or seating areas.
  • Contact salespersons for customer assistance.
  • Order necessary supplies when authorized by managers.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a cheerful and professional demeanor towards customers and colleagues.

Work Environment

This role is based at an automotive dealership location in NE Salem that operates multiple new and used vehicle lots. The Receptionist works at the front desk in a professional showroom environment, interacting frequently with customers, sales staff, and service personnel. The setting is active and customer-focused, with regular foot traffic and phone activity throughout the shift. New hires complete an initial training period that includes five daytime training days (approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and three closing shifts alongside experienced staff. The workplace expects a professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a customer-facing dealership environment, with frequent use of standard office equipment and computer applications to support front desk operations.

The position follows a set schedule that includes weekday evening shifts (Monday through Friday approximately 2:50 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), mandatory Saturday shifts (either 7:50 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 1:50 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), and mandatory Sunday shifts two times per month (typically 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.
