Quality Inspector | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $74,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify adherence to specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately, including identification of non-conforming products and initiation of corrective actions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality control plans.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues.
• Conduct first-article, in-process, and final inspections according to established procedures.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications (including GD&T).
• Skilled in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs).
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills for defect identification.
• Ability to accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and operation.
• ASQ Certification (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector - CQI or Certified Quality Technician - CQT).
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) software and data analysis.
• Experience with advanced metrology equipment such as vision systems or laser scanners.
