We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Waterville, Maine. In this role, you will be tasked with handling various payroll-related duties, including processing and recording employee changes, ensuring compliance with payroll laws, and managing accounts payable. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and handle bi-weekly timecard review and processing.
• Set up and conduct audits of payroll allocations in payroll files, including timecard coding.
• Review and input benefit elections, employee deductions, and other payroll-related changes.
• Coordinate and audit the use of paid time off benefits and timesheet entries.
• Respond to and process wage verification inquiries.
• Act as a point of contact for new and current employees regarding timecards and paystubs.
• Generate and process payroll entries in QuickBooks.
• Ensure adherence to Federal, State, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Review and input accounts payable and ensure timely processing of payments.
• Monitor and record automatic payments.
• Review and process credit card and charge account expenses.
• Support month-end reconciliations of accounts payable.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Able to perform Accounting Functions effectively
• Possess strong skills in Auditing
• Experience with Benefit Functions
• Familiarity with Paylocity software is required
• Proficiency in QuickBooks software is desirable
