OVERVIEW
A successful family-owned and operated values-driven commercial and residential real estate and agriculture firm seeks an experienced real estate professional, with a current California real estate broker's license, to provide day-to-day, hands-on oversight of and responsibility for commercial real estate leasing, planning, managing and oversight of all operational aspects of the company. This includes direct responsibility for: operations, human resources, information technology, data/file management, legal, compliance, strategic planning, partner relations, and coordination, as needed, of the preparation of family tax filings and family estate planning. The position is also responsible for identifying and securing new investment opportunities in keeping with the company’s and the family’s mission and strategic plan. This is a hands-on executive position, working closely and collaboratively with the President, all staff, family members, contractors and vendors. A current California real estate broker's license is required. A BA in Business Administration or related field is also required. Highly desired: an MBA and/or a legal degree.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Day-to-day oversight and coordination of all business operations, including:
§ Coordinating all aspects of the real estate and agriculture business, providing day-to-day guidance and support to operations
§ Hands-on involvement in all commercial real estate leases, contracts and other business agreements, including those made in the agricultural segment of the company
§ Providing reports documenting the performance of the firm and its businesses
§ Overseeing the firm’s information systems, applications and hardware, ensuring data integrity, storage and file management
§ Overseeing human resources processes and activities (e.g., hiring, compensation, benefits, insurance, performance management) to build and sustain a high-performing, collaborative team capable of delivering accurate and timely results
§ Planning and overseeing the timely upgrade of all rental and office facilities as needed
§ Dealing with issues as they arise with tenants, vendors and customers
§ Responding to the needs/requests of family members and the partnerships
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
§ BA in Business Administration or related field required; MBA and/or legal degree highly desirable
§ A California real estate broker’s license
§ 15+ years in progressively responsible operational leadership roles, preferably in commercial real estate development, property management, and/or the construction industry
§ Fluency with property management and other residential and commercial real estate leases and contracts is essential
§ Strong math skills
§ Hands-on experience calculating and managing CAMs is strongly desired
§ Experience in agriculture, especially the financial aspects of winegrowing, is a plus
§ PC proficiency is essential, including Word and Excel
§ Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager 7s or similar software is strongly desired
§ Experience in a family-owned and operated business is a plus
