Job Description

A leading global retail and e-commerce organization is seeking a highly skilled Event Planner to lead content and communication efforts for a high-impact executive Vendor Summit. This individual will be central to shaping the event’s strategic narrative and ensuring seamless coordination of executive participation and production. This is not a traditional logistics-only planning role. The focus is on developing meeting content, writing scripts and speaker materials, building polished PowerPoint presentations for senior leadership, and managing all aspects of event production from concept to execution.

Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid)

Duration: 4-month contract

Pay Rate: $53-58/hour

Hours: 40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead content strategy, messaging, and script development for executive presentations and key summit moments
  • Build visually compelling, narrative-driven PowerPoint decks for leadership review and delivery
  • Develop talking points, briefing documents, and speaking materials tailored to high-level participants
  • Own executive scheduling and coordinate leadership participation across multiple sessions
  • Drive end-to-end event planning and production, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors
  • Develop internal and external communication plans aligned with the event’s strategic goals
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure that all content is consistent, polished, and audience-appropriate
  • Support run-of-show planning and live event execution, ensuring alignment across all workstreams
  • Post-event, gather feedback, capture learnings, and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in event planning, executive communications, or high-level content development
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with a focus on scriptwriting and leadership messaging
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint with a strong eye for design and visual storytelling
  • Proven ability to manage executive-facing deliverables in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience juggling multiple timelines and stakeholder priorities
  • Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, charts, lookups)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in executive communications or working closely with senior leadership teams
  • Experience with live event production, stage management, or technical event workflows
  • Strong project management instincts with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Comfortable working within large, matrixed organizations and influencing cross-functional teams
