Position Summary
The HVAC Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a large scale multifamily construction project on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a balance of field presence and office-based leadership, managing subcontractors, coordinating materials and schedules, and ensuring successful project execution through proactive planning and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of a long-term HVAC installation project
- Maintain ownership of project scope, schedule, and budget
Team & Trade Coordination
- Develop and manage project schedules
- Coordinate materials and collaborate with multiple trades to meet milestones
Change & Risk Management
- Process RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
Communication & Documentation
- Act as the primary point of contact with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Track progress, risks, and key deliverables using project management tools
On-Site Leadership
- Provide strong field oversight across installation phases
- Monitor deliveries, installation progress, and coordination across trades
- Identify and resolve issues to keep the project on track
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing HVAC or construction projects, ideally within multifamily or large-scale residential builds
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and installation processes
- Experience working directly with general contractors
- Familiarity with advanced HVAC systems (e.g., VRV/VRF) is highly desirable
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with project management software platforms
- Relevant certifications (PMP, OSHA 30) or technical education preferred
