Job DescriptionAccounting Manager | Temp to Perm | Hybrid | Midtown Manhattan

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a large, mission-driven nonprofit organization in NYC to hire an Accounting Manager on a temp-to-perm basis. This hybrid role (three days in-office, two remote) is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with expertise in nonprofit finance, grant reporting, and month-end close.   • Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger

  • Perform reconciliations for general ledger, balance sheet, and bank accounts

  • Prepare journal entries and financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations

  • Track and report on restricted and unrestricted grants

  • Ensure proper allocation of grant funds and support related reporting

  • Prepare financial statements with commentary

  • Lead and support annual audit preparation and coordination

  • Conduct expense analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities

  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and accounting support

  • Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)

  • 5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of grant accounting and fund reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)

  • Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar

  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau (a plus)

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

$45-55/hr



Pay Details: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour
