Job DescriptionEvent Planner (Contract) - Princeton, NJ

Pay: $34/hour
Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute events ranging from small meetings to large-scale corporate functions (10-500 attendees)
  • Coordinate all logistics including venue selection, catering, AV, transportation, and staffing
  • Manage event budgets, track expenses, and reconcile costs
  • Source and negotiate with vendors, venues, and service providers
  • Develop timelines, run-of-show documents, and event schedules
  • Oversee on-site event execution and troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Ensure high-quality attendee experience and satisfaction
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and reporting

Qualifications

  • 3-6+ years of event planning or hospitality experience
  • Experience managing corporate or large-scale events
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and vendor negotiation abilities
  • Proficiency with event planning tools and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work flexible hours (occasional evenings/weekends)

Preferred

  • Experience in corporate, nonprofit, or agency event planning
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or related field
