Job DescriptionAccounts Receivable Specialist
Pay Rate: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
Location: East Los Angeles, CA
About the Role
Our client, a food manufacturing and distribution company based in East Los Angeles, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their finance team on a contract basis. This role is critical to ensuring accurate cash flow, timely collections, and effective resolution of chargebacks and deductions with major customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply daily customer payments (checks, ACH, wire, lockbox) accurately and timely
- Manage accounts receivable balances and perform regular account reconciliations
- Handle collections efforts, including follow-ups on past-due invoices
- Research, analyze, and resolve chargebacks, deductions, and short payments
- Work extensively with customer/vendor portals to retrieve remittances, dispute deductions, and submit required documentation
- Maintain accurate AR aging reports and support month-end close activities
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably in food manufacturing, distribution, CPG, or wholesale environments
- Strong experience with cash applications, collections, and chargebacks/deductions
- Hands-on experience working with customer/vendor portals
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- ERP system experience is a plus
