The NeuroTrauma ICU at our facility underwent renovations in 2013. This expansive 28,000 square foot unit features 24 beds and delivers cutting-edge care, achieving some of the highest success rates among ICUs in the nation. As a nationally recognized Level One Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, we also specialize in respiratory failure and ECMO. Our unit admits a diverse range of medical-surgical critical care patients, who are at significant risk for severe complications due to multiple traumas, neuro trauma, cardiovascular surgeries, complex general surgeries, neurosurgeries, respiratory failures, and intricate medical conditions. Additionally, we have served as the primary COVID ICU since 2020.
- Our dedicated team of critical care nurses operates in a collaborative environment, employing a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, characterized by a proactive and positive attitude.
- Nurses in this setting have the chance to receive advanced training in areas such as Trauma Resuscitation, ECMO, Stroke Response, Critical Care Transport, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy.
Responsibilities
The RN Staff Nurse is accountable for patient care within a designated department or unit and collaborates as part of the healthcare team under the guidance of the clinical manager or their designee, adhering to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for Registered Nurses. This role involves assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards for our health system, including those related to patient assessment and transfer.
Qualifications
Education:
As mandated by licensure requirements. A BSN or an equivalent degree in progress is highly preferred. For certain assignments, a BSN may be necessary; however, experienced RNs without a BSN may be considered based on clinical experience with the approval of the site Chief Nursing Officer.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of registered nursing experience or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program in terms of content, curriculum, and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may differ based on the specific department where the position is located.
This NTICU position requires either two years of general ICU experience or one year of focused trauma/neuro ICU experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and positively with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Proficiency in keyboard skills and the ability to navigate electronic systems relevant to job responsibilities.
Licensure
- A current state RN license is required.
- AHA BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is necessary.
Pay Range
Compensation ranges from USD $54.37 to USD $81.21 per hour.
