IHSS Attendant
Reports To: Director of Client Services, Director of Operations, Supervisor
Supervises: NONE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ARE:

Provision of tasks per care plan and only as instructed for
-
Provides homemaker, personal care, and health maintenance activities as assigned.

Documents activities performed with clients during the visit.
-
Documents client concerns, and client difficulties, and reports the same to supervisor or manager.

Provides services when scheduled.
-
Promptly communicates any schedule change to both the agency and the client
-
Completes and submits required paperwork accurately and on time.
-
Accomplishes job responsibilities in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
-
Participates in client case conferences according to agency and procedures.
-
Represents the Agency in a professional manner and dresses appropriate to job duties
-
Report any changes in consumer to IHSS supervisor
-
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Experience of a minimum of two (2) years providing home care preferred; prefer one (1) year employment history with licensed agency experience.
ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Ability to send/receive emails

Ability to use computer for communication and documentation purposes
-
Ability to maintain confidential information.

Must possess strong communication skills
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, the public, and supervisors.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
At least 16 years of age
-
Must have no history of a nurse or nurse aide license or certification suspension or revocation.

Must pass background check/Colorado DORA check
-
Possession of a valid Colorado Driver's License with reliable transportation and applicable car insurance, or statement of alternate reliable and available transportation. (If Applicable)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Ability to regularly sit, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, balance, crouch, crawl, push, pull, reach with hands and arms and occasionally climb.

Ability to talk, hear, and use sense of smell.
-
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.+
-
Ability to perform the anticipated level of physical assistance required to provide safe client care. If the anticipated level of assistance is greater than that which the employee can safely provide, the supervisor is to be notified immediately.
-
Ability to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
-
The work environment is highly variable, as care is provided in private homes.
-
Lighting, acoustics, air quality, temperature and environmental hazards are not predictable.
-
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, household pets/animals, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
-
The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
TRAVEL:
The employee is required to travel frequently to complete consumer visits.
