Job DescriptionFlexible LPN Position - Per Diem/PRN - Opportunities in Washington and Nearby Areas

This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who will work on a flexible, per diem, or PRN basis at various hospitals in Washington and its neighboring communities. The LPN will deliver bedside care across multiple departments, including Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Candidates must possess the necessary licensure and certifications. This position highlights the importance of adaptable scheduling, with no guaranteed hours, and offers shift incentives along with the chance to work different shifts based on availability.

Utilizing the nursing process, you will provide patient care under the guidance of licensed professionals authorized to prescribe medications and treatments, or under the direction of an RN. You will maintain accountability for the care provided to your assigned patients, coordinating with other departments as necessary while upholding patient rights and confidentiality.

Incentives:

  • $30/hour plus Variable Shift Incentives

  • W-2 Employee Status

  • Minimum of 12 hours required every 90 days

  • Maximum of 30 hours per week (Sunday to Saturday)

  • Options for 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts

Position Summary:

Are you looking for a flexible LPN role with incentives? You can choose between day or night shifts based on your preference! There are no mandatory weekend, holiday, or shift requirements. Participation in the Gig Nursing Program entails a commitment to scheduling a minimum number of hours, being available on short notice, and being adaptable to last-minute shift cancellations. Please note that the Gig Nursing Program does not guarantee shift hours and will be prioritized for cancellations.

The LPN in this role will have the opportunity to float between selected hospital facilities.

  • Facility A - St. Louis, MO

  • Facility B - Festus, MO

  • Facility C - South St. Louis County, MO

  • Facility D - Washington, MO

  • Facility E - Troy, MO

  • Facility F - Perryville, MO

  • Facility G - Cape Girardeau, MO

  • Facility H - Dexter, MO

Qualifications:

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent GED.

Licensure:

Must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; equivalent educational experience may be considered. It is the candidate's responsibility to obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the state where nursing duties are performed, adhering to all State Board of Nursing requirements.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of recent bedside LPN experience is required for Medical-Surgical roles. For other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.), at least two years of recent bedside LPN experience is necessary.

Certifications:

For Medical-Surgical (MS) - BLS certification required.

For Critical Care (CC) - BLS and ACLS certifications required.

For Emergency Department (ED) - BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

IV certification is mandatory.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Epic software is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

This position necessitates the ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift, along with the capacity to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job responsibilities.
