Position Information:Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Orthopedics, PRN

Location: Our Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Job Summary:

This position employs the nursing process to deliver patient care under the oversight of individuals licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medications and treatments, or under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). The LPN is accountable for the provision of care to assigned patients, coordinating with other departments as necessary. The role also involves upholding patient rights and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED

Licensure:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Possession of a current LPN license in Missouri, meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
  • Equivalent educational experience and successful licensure may be considered

Experience:

  • Open to both new graduates and seasoned LPNs

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or to be obtained within 30 days of hire)
  • LPN-IV Certification to be completed prior to employment or within 3 months (up to 1 year depending on unit requirements)

Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and assisting with patient lifting/turning
  • Capability to push, pull, and grip weights up to 50 lbs
