Job Title: Transportation Technician (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Modesto, CA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)
Pay Rate: $20 – $26 per hour
Shift: Day & Evening Shifts Available (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM / 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and professional Transportation Technician to support the safe and timely delivery of sterilized surgical instruments between facilities and customer locations. This role is critical in maintaining high service standards, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting daily logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles (van or truck) to transport medical instruments along assigned routes
- Follow GPS navigation and routing systems to ensure efficient pickups and deliveries
- Load and unload carts and totes while maintaining product integrity
- Obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) signatures and complete required documentation
- Provide excellent customer service as a representative in the field
- Report customer feedback or issues to management in a timely manner
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Comply with all DOT regulations and company driving standards
- Track and log deliveries, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance
- Follow all safety, PPE, and infection control protocols when handling medical items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicle
- Assist with additional logistics or operational tasks as needed
Work Environment:
- 100% local travel (no overnight stays)
- Frequent driving with exposure to traffic, weather conditions, and healthcare environments
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial or route-based driving
- Strong navigation skills using GPS or routing software
- Ability to push/pull carts up to 400 lbs
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accurate documentation
- Willingness to follow safety, PPE, and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior customer-facing or service-oriented experience
Certifications & Requirements:
- Valid Class C Driver’s License
- Clean driving record (subject to DMV/DOT checks)
