Wetlands Inc. is hiring a Construction Project Manager to manage civil/site, public works, DOT, parks, streetscape, environmental restoration, landscape construction, drainage, grading, concrete, asphalt, and site improvement projects throughout NJ, NY, and PA.
This is not a desk-only project manager role. We need someone who understands both the field and the paperwork. The right candidate can read drawings, understand specifications, support crews, coordinate vendors and subcontractors, track costs, manage RFIs/submittals/change orders, assist with billing, and push projects through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from startup through closeout.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, scopes, schedules, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with owners, GCs, engineers, inspectors, public agencies, subcontractors, suppliers, trucking companies, superintendents, foremen, and field crews.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, material approvals, change orders, purchase orders, and closeout documents.
- Obtain quotes, coordinate materials, schedule deliveries, and track committed costs.
- Support field crews with drawings, materials, equipment, paperwork, and project information.
- Track labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, trucking, project costs, and schedule impacts.
- Identify extra work, delays, changed conditions, scope gaps, and project risks.
- Assist with monthly billing, pencil requisitions, backup documentation, punch lists, and final closeout.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Project Manager and company leadership.
Required Experience
- Construction project management experience.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, purchasing, billing, and closeout.
- Strong communication with field crews, superintendents, vendors, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and owners.
- Strong organization, follow-up, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license.

Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
- Heavy civil construction
- Site work
- Public works
- DOT projects
- Municipal work
- Parks and streetscape construction
- Landscape construction
- Drainage, grading, utilities, hardscape, concrete, asphalt, or restoration work
- Union or prevailing wage projects
