Job Title: Machine Operator
Type of Role: Contract to hire
Shift / Hours: Swing or Graveyard
Location: West Valley, UT
Hourly Range: $20 TO $21
If candidates have forklift experience it is a plus
**PRIMARY PURPOSE**
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the Packer operates efficiently and effectively. The Packer operator is responsible for managing the Packer equipment on the can line.
**PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Distribute all bundle film and trays according to work orders.
- Ensure that the glue tank is adequately filled while the machine is in operation.
- Load trays into the machine as required.
- Resolve any jams in the packer, reset the machine, and restart it.
- Assist with hand-stacking trays at the end of the line when the palletizer is down.
- Ensure that all products meet quality standards.
- Communicate any issues promptly to the supervisor and maintenance team.
- Complete all necessary preoperational checks.
- Report deviations as needed.
- Fill out and submit daily reports and related paperwork.
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**
**Education and/or On-the-Job Experience Required**
- On-the-job training for machine operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in reading and writing English.
**Industry-Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Previous experience in machine operation is preferred.
- Previous leadership or line lead experience is also preferred.
**Interpersonal Skills**
- Ability to clearly communicate issues as they arise.
**Technical Skills**
- Knowledge of machinery and its operation.
