An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to provide specialized educational support in an elementary setting. This contract position is based in West Columbia, TX, and focuses on creating an inclusive and empowering environment for students with diverse learning needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Content area certification relevant to elementary education.
- Experience working with young students in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tailored instructional plans for a self-contained classroom of approximately 9-10 students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining detailed records to inform IEP goals.
- Collaborate with parents, fellow educators, and support staff to create a comprehensive learning experience.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
