Job Description
We are currently looking to fill our after school program staff openings for the current school year. Positions available in both the elementary (K-5th grades) and middle school (6th-8th grades) programs.
Middle School hours are from 1:30-6:00pm M-F and elementary hours are from 2:00-6:00pm M-F. Staff can work 2-5 days per week, depending on availability. Staff are also required to attend meetings (once/week) and training (once/month) as scheduled.
Hourly compensation: $18.00+/hour
Staff responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing engaging and enriching activities
- Providing a safe, nurturing environment
- Supervising youth both on and off site
- Completing all paperwork and evaluations as required
- Assisting in daily set up and clean up
- Preparing and serving meals/snacks for youth
- Communicating with families on a weekly basis
- Attending after-hours/extended day programming as scheduled
- Supporting and managing youth behavior in a positive, respectful manner
Qualifications:
- Must have completed/be in the process of completing first year of post-secondary school and/or be a senior in high school and have worked for CPY for at least 1 academic year as a junior staff
- Be able to pass a criminal background check
- Be able to communicate effectively and appropriately
- Able to lead and participate in physical and/or recreational activities
- Ability to work well in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment
- Previous experience working with children is preferred, but not required
- Ability to commit to the rest of the semester and/or school year (2 shifts/week)
- FOR MINI BUS DRIVERS: (must be 21+ with a clean driving record—no more than 2 moving violations in the last 5 years and had a license for 5+ years)
