Bolder Industries is on a mission to transform waste into valuable resources through innovative chemical recycling. We are seeking a high-performing Plant Manager to lead our flagship facility in Maryville, Missouri, playing a pivotal role in scaling operations, delivering results, and leading a team that is driving change in the sustainable manufacturing space.

If you have proven leadership in the carbon black, petrochemical, or heavy process manufacturing industries, this is your opportunity to join a purpose-driven company and shape the next generation of sustainable materials.

About the Role

As Plant Manager, you will be the strategic and operational leader of the Maryville plant—responsible for overseeing safety, production, maintenance, people leadership, continuous improvement and overall financial performance. You will be responsible for developing a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and innovation while aligning plant performance with aggressive business growth targets.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a deep understanding of chemical or petrochemical plant operations, and the ability to guide teams through scale-up and continuous improvement in a fast-evolving environment.

Why Join Bolder Industries?

At Bolder, your work directly contributes to a more sustainable future. You’ll be part of a family-oriented culture that values innovation, accountability, and integrity—where your impact goes beyond the bottom line.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation + performance-based annual incentives
  • Flexible PTO and paid holidays
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (employee + family)
  • 401(k)
  • Company-sponsored events and team celebrations
  • A chance to lead at the forefront of circular economy innovation

Location & Schedule

  • On-site at our Maryville, Missouri facility (remote work is not available for this role)
  • Full-time, with on-call responsibilities
  • Occasional travel may be required for corporate meetings, training, or vendor visits

Working Conditions

This role operates within an active chemical recycling plant that includes exposure to carbon black, liquid hydrocarbon oils, and vapor streams. Protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators) will be required in designated areas. The facility includes indoor and outdoor operations, elevated equipment access, and industrial-grade processing equipment.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all plant operations, including production, safety, maintenance, quality, logistics, and capital projects.
  • Champion a safety-first culture—ensuring full compliance with all EH&S regulations and promoting environmentally responsible operations.
  • Drive operational excellence through implementation of KPIs, continuous improvement programs (5S, Kaizen, Lean, Six Signa), and best-in-class manufacturing practices.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams to develop and execute strategic plant objectives, including budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Sustainability teams to ensure all products meet or exceed ISO and industry/customer specs (e.g., ISCC, environmental).
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team—providing coaching, direction, and support to frontline supervisors and staff.
  • Participate in facility startup and ramp-up initiatives, identifying gaps, optimizing process flow, and implementing scalable systems.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive preventative maintenance and turnaround program designed to minimize equipment downtime and ensure reliable plant operations
  • Own plant P&L performance and reporting, ensuring alignment with company financial goals and operational KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of senior plant or operations leadership in a manufacturing environment (chemical, petrochemical, carbon black, tire pyrolysis, or similar industry preferred).
  • Demonstrated success managing teams of 30+ employees in a dynamic, production-based environment.
  • Strong background in P&L responsibility, capital projects, and continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Startup or plant ramp-up experience highly desirable.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and people development skills.
