Salary Range: $59,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and repair intricate tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and engineering specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
• Operate precision machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Utilize measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tools and dies, implementing effective repair solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance and sharpening on tooling to maximize lifespan and performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training.
• Proven experience in the design, fabrication, and repair of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using precision measuring instruments.
• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and metalworking principles.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool and die design and manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for troubleshooting and quality control.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with CNC programming and operation for die components
• - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tool design and simulation
• - Familiarity with heat treatment processes for tooling
• - Knowledge of advanced machining techniques like EDM or wire EDM
