Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Espanola, NM, serving K-6th grade students in a school setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to work with a small caseload of 10-13 students, providing individualized support and instruction tailored to their unique learning needs. The position requires a current New Mexico teaching license and is set to begin as soon as possible, continuing through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for K-6 students with special needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary
- Maintain detailed records and comply with all state and federal special education regulations
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico teaching license with certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students in grades K-6 preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborate with an educational team
