Job Title: Container Assembly Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling storage containers for batteries, including tasks such as caulking, hanging doors, and performing general mechanical assembly work. You will use a variety of hand and power tools, follow instructions from supervisors, and contribute to efficient production in a heavy industrial environment. Reliability, the ability to work with tools, and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble battery storage containers using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
  • Apply caulking and sealants to containers to ensure proper sealing and durability.
  • Hang and install doors on storage containers according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Use wrenches and other mechanical tools to fasten, secure, and adjust components during assembly.
  • Follow detailed instructions and directions from supervisors and leads to complete assigned tasks safely and accurately.
  • Work on an assembly line or production area to meet daily and weekly output goals.
  • Perform general labor duties related to container assembly, including lifting, positioning, and handling materials.
  • Operate basic power tools, such as drills, rivet guns, and other equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Inspect assembled components for quality and completeness, and make minor adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to support continuous workflow and resolve basic assembly issues.
  • Arrive on time and consistently for scheduled shifts, demonstrating strong attendance and dependability.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform basic mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and power tools.
  • Capability to turn a wrench and use other common mechanical tools safely and effectively.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Experience or familiarity with general labor, assembly, or construction environments.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and take direction from supervisors.
  • Willingness and physical ability to perform hands-on work in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic, including consistently showing up for work.
  • Comfort using power tools such as drills and rivet guns.
  • Ability to work on an assembly line or production environment and meet productivity expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general labor, construction, or production assembly is beneficial.
  • Experience using rivet guns and other specialized power tools is an advantage.
  • Comfort working around heavy industrial equipment and materials.
  • No additional formal qualifications or certifications are required beyond the ability to perform the described duties.

Work Environment

This is a Contract position based out of Johnstown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
